Buyers can’t check out

Usually payments aren’t on, the shop isn’t open, or shipping isn’t set up for physical products.

Are your payments on?

Buyers can only check out once Stripe has turned on card payments. Open Payments: the badge next to the title says where things are.

Is your shop open, with an active plan?

A shop that isn’t open yet is private, so only you can see it. A shop whose plan has ended stays up but is browse-only. Open Billing to check, and see Open your shop.

Have you set up shipping?

Physical products can’t be ordered until you’ve chosen how buyers get them: posted (free is fine), picked up, or both. See Set up shipping.

Do you post to the buyer’s country?

Physical orders can only go to your own country and the places you’ve added under Ship abroad. A buyer anywhere else sees that your shop doesn’t post there, and can’t pay until they choose a country you do post to, or pickup if you offer it. To sell to them, add their country in Set up shipping. Digital products can be bought from anywhere.

Is the product in stock?

An option with no stock left is sold out and can’t be ordered. Check it in Inventory, and see Track your stock.

Is the product archived, or a download with no file?

Archived products can’t be bought: see Hide or archive a product. A digital product can only be bought once its file is uploaded, under Files on the product.
