Connect Stripe to get paid

Set up card payments, so buyers can pay you and your sales reach your bank.

Stripe takes your buyers’ card payments and pays your sales into your bank. You set it up from inside Tinbird, and you don’t need a Stripe account first.

  1. In Settings, open Payments.
  2. If you’re asked where your business is based, choose your country.
  3. Choose Continue to Stripe.
  4. Answer Stripe’s questions about you. It takes about five minutes.

Before your shop is open, you can also start from Home: under Getting open, choose Connect Stripe.

What happens next

Stripe checks your details, which usually takes a few minutes, sometimes a day. The page moves on by itself when it’s done. You can leave it. We’ll tell you in the app, or by email, when your payments are on.

Once your payments are on, you can open your shop. After your first sale, Stripe asks for your bank account so it can send your money to you. See Add your bank account.

Answer when Stripe needs one more thing

Sometimes Stripe needs one more thing right after you’ve sent your details, such as a quick selfie, a description of what you sell, or a photo of your ID. Enable online payments says One more thing, with what Stripe needs and Stripe’s form for it right there. Your card payments may already be on, but you can open your shop once it’s in. If you leave it, Home says so and we email you.

  1. On Home, choose Finish with Stripe under Getting open.
  2. Send what Stripe asks for in its form.

Stripe checks it straight away, usually within a few minutes, and the step turns green.

Your Payments page

Once you’re connected, Payments has four tabs:

  • Payments: every payment, with refunds and disputes.
  • Payouts: what Stripe has paid into your bank, and what’s on its way.
  • Account: your business details and bank account.
  • Documents: Stripe’s fee invoices and tax documents.
