Track your stock

Set how many you have, see what’s running low, and let buyers know when something’s back.

Tinbird counts stock for each option of a physical product, like each size or colour. Digital products don’t need stock.

  1. Open Inventory.
  2. Find the option, by product name or SKU.
  3. Change its number.
  4. Save it on that row.

What happens next

When an option reaches 0, it’s sold out and buyers can’t order it. They can ask to hear when it’s back instead, and they’re emailed once, as soon as you add stock. A product’s page shows how many people are waiting.

Set stock on the product

  1. Open the product from Products.
  2. Next to Stock, choose its number, enter how many you have and choose Save stock. For a product in sizes or colours, fill in the Stock column under Variants instead.

Leave it empty if you’d rather not count. The option can then always be bought.

What Inventory shows

  • Ready to sell: units buyers can order.
  • Running low: options at or below your low-stock number. To change it, see Choose which emails you get. One-offs never count, since you won’t make more; their options show One-off instead.
  • Sold out: options buyers can’t order.
  • In checkouts: units held for buyers who are paying right now. If they don’t finish, the units go back on sale.

Sell a one-off

  1. Open the product.
  2. Next to Stock, choose its number.
  3. Turn on Won’t be restocked.

It shows as One-off in Inventory, not as running low, and Home doesn’t suggest topping it up. When it sells out, shoppers can sign up for your news instead of asking to hear when it’s back.

If you count a product for the first time and you have just one, Won’t be restocked turns on for you, because a single piece is usually the only one. Turn it off before you save if you’ll make more.
