Update your details for Stripe
When Stripe asks for more about you or your business, send it from Payments to keep getting paid.
Stripe has to know who it’s paying, so now and then it asks for more. When it does, we email you, and Payments says what it needs at the top.
- In Settings, open Payments.
- Choose Finish with Stripe, or Set up payouts for what Stripe needs to pay you out.
- Send the details or documents Stripe asks for.
If there’s no button, choose Account and update your details there.
Before your shop has opened, Stripe’s form is in Enable online payments instead: see Connect Stripe.
What happens next
Stripe checks what you sent, and we tell you when it’s done. Whatever Stripe pauses, your past payments, disputes and payouts stay in Payments, so you can still answer a dispute or check a payout.
What the notices mean
Payments shows two lines: Card payments, which buyers pay with, and Money to your bank, which is Stripe paying you out. They’re separate: what Stripe needs to pay you out never stops buyers checking out.
- Card payments are on. Stripe has checked your details, and you can open your shop.
- Stripe needs a quick selfie (or something else it names). Before you’ve opened, Stripe needs it before you can open. Once you’re open, send it by the date shown to keep card payments on. If Stripe couldn’t verify something you sent, it says what.
- Stripe is checking your details. There’s nothing for you to do.
- Money to your bank: set this up after your first sale. Nothing to do until you’ve sold something.
- Money to your bank: Stripe needs your bank account (and sometimes a quick selfie). Send it so Stripe can pay you. We email you once, after your first sale.
- Stripe has paused card payments until you update your details.
- Stripe has stopped card payments for your shop, and updating your details won’t turn them back on. The Tinbird team is told straight away and will help.
